BEST and School Connectedness
MSTA’s initiative for school improvement BEST: Building Educational Success Together is designed to build collaboration and connections between teachers, administrators, support staff and parents.
BEST promotes data collection and team building through the use of tools
such as the NEA KEYS Survey and the Systems Thinking/Systems Changing Game
The NEA KEYS Survey looks at input from all school stakeholders on
the foundational levels for connectedness of Shared Understanding and
Open Communication and Collaborative Problem Solving.
BEST works with school teams to develop:
- collaborative culture
- distributed leadership
- group decision-making
- shared best practices
- joint teacher analysis of student work
- family, school, community partnerships
- study groups
- action research
BEST’s goal is to create a professional learning community grounded in connectedness and caring.
