Building Educational Success Together (BEST)

What is MSTA’s BEST?

Building Educational Success Together

MSTA’s Building Educational Success Together (BEST) utilizes research-based tools and processes to lead school communities through a change process to bring about increased student learning. Facilitators trained by MSTA work in teams to bring to the school community insight as to what it takes to become a continuously learning organization and how it helps to produce high achieving students.

The BEST Mission

To facilitate reaching a deep and shared vision for your school, stimulate ongoing dialogue, initiate study groups, explore collaborative examination of data, introduce critical friend review of classroom instructional practices, inspire sharing of skills and experiences, explore action research and encourage other options as they fit the school’s needs. BEST develops alignment between the school’s need for support and resources and the system that supplies them.

How BEST Works

BEST consultants facilitate the program at no charge. The school provides the time, special materials, or opportunities for deepening the journey. MSTA also provides a week-long session during the MSTA Summer Training Series, usually the first week in August, where a school can send a team for BEST training. There is a minimal charge for rooms and meals. MSTA annually trains new BEST facilitators and enhances the skills of current facilitators. School teams or individuals can take advantage of this opportunity to extend their learning.
