MSEA once again invites you to nominate candidates for the Minority Achievement Awards to be presented at our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast honoring the legacy of this American civil rights hero.
Every year, MSEA and the Minority Affairs Committee recognize minority* individuals who have promoted and/or demonstrated leadership in public education. These awards recognize outstanding achievement at the national, state and/or local levels in each of five areas: education, leadership, politics, community involvement, and as a student member of the MSEA Student Program.

The 24th annual MSEA Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2009, at Martin’s Crosswinds, 7400 Greenway Center Drive in
Greenbelt. This new location will accommodate our increased numbers and provide ample free parking for participants.
*In this program, minority shall mean those persons designated as ethnic minority by statistics published by the United States Bureau of the Census. This designation shall specifically include African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander.
