MSTA's Fund for Public Education

If public school children and educators are to receive the support that’s needed, we have to engage in public policy and politics. That’s why MSTA created a voluntary, non-partisan political fund – MSTA’s Fund for Children and Public Education.
The Fund is run by your Association. It helps teachers and support education professionals influence the political process and elect local, state and national representatives who make the serious decisions that affect you and your job, like workload, accountability and standards, and better pay and pensions.
A strong voice for educators where it makes a difference
When your Association lobbies the General Assembly or your county officials for full funding for public schools, relief from a growing workload and improvements in salaries, pensions and working conditions, it’s about our needs as educators and the needs of our students.
The Fund for Children and Public Education helps MSTA stand up for public education. Voluntary contributions allow the Association to assist the campaigns of lawmakers who support our schools, and to challenge those who do not.
Just a dollar or two a week from each Association member makes a huge difference at election time. The law doesn’t allow your dues to go to candidates or campaigns, which is why this special fund is so important.
When your Local Association president asks you to give, please say “Yes.” It’s the most effective way we can make a difference for our students and ourselves.
